A devastating tragedy has struck the family of reality television star Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman, as his 13-year-old step-grandson, Anthony, was accidentally shot and killed by his stepson, Gregory Zecca, over the weekend. The incident occurred on Saturday night at Zecca’s apartment in Naples, Florida.  

According to reports, Gregory Zecca, who is the son of Dog’s wife Francie Frane from a previous marriage, fatally shot his son in what authorities and the family have described as an “incomprehensible tragic accident.” Law enforcement officials responded to the scene around 8 p.m. ET, and while an investigation is ongoing, they have stated that no arrests have been made and the incident is considered isolated.  

Duane “Dog” Chapman and his wife Francie released a joint statement through a family representative, expressing their profound grief. “We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony,” the statement read, with the family requesting privacy during this incredibly difficult time.  

Gregory Zecca has reportedly been involved in the family’s bounty hunting operations since his mother, Francie, married Chapman in 2021. Social media photos have indicated a shared interest in firearms between Zecca and his son, with images showing them at a gun store and shooting range in 2021.  

This heartbreaking event adds another layer of sorrow to Dog the Bounty Hunter’s already eventful life, which has seen its share of personal tragedies, including the passing of his late wife, Beth Chapman, in 2019. The family, known for their reality shows like “Dog the Bounty Hunter” and “Dog and Beth: On the Hunt,” is now united in mourning the loss of young Anthony.   Sources and related content
